Come say hello on Instagram @the.moneyfox

I’ve been talking a lot about 9-5’s recently, I’ve been talking a lot about 9-5’s recently, and I thought it would be good to look at some pros and cons and open up the conversation!

I’m not saying any job is better than another by the way - I’m of the view that it needs to work for you, your personality, the way you work, your lifestyle - as well as your monetary needs of course.

I personally like having a 9-5 as well as running a biz and doing freelance work. But I appreciate that’s probably not what most people want to do 😂 I’ve tried all different avenues - full time self employed, full time employed, part time employed - and I’ve realised that I don’t like being at home all of the time. I need colleagues, I need to talk to people more and be out and about.

I’m such a homebody, and a major introvert, so if you just looked at that on paper it wouldn’t make sense…that’s why I think it’s important to try things out and see what works best for you ☺️

Do you have a 9-5? What are your thoughts on the post? Let me know below! 🫶🏻

These are real life examples by the way, of things that people like to spend money on, that they feel improves their life. Here on The Money Fox I like to encourage you to spend your money on the things that you actually want to spend your money on!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you do any of these? What’s important to you? ☺️

Have you heard of this budgeting method before? ☺️ it’s called the 50/30/20 budget method, & it’s where you allocate 50% of your income on needs, 30% on your wants, and 20% on your savings.

This isn’t going to work for everyone, and isn’t something I’d necessarily recommend doing all the time - but it can be good if you are feeling totally stuck and aren’t sure how much you should be saving and so on.

I guess for me it’s more of a guideline if you are feeling stuck ☺️ but some people use it for longer and love it!

Have you heard of this before? What are your thoughts? ☺️

In case you were interested at all 😄 in how I b In case you were interested at all 😄 in how I budget my salaried job and the split.

I also make money from this business, The Money Fox, which is budgeted differently, and completely separately.

Just to say that I’m not saying that you need to do it this way 👆🏻 this is just the way that I’m currently doing it. I’ll adjust this along the way anyway, as at the moment I’m in a very spendy time.

Something that I find interesting is how with a salaried job I’m more of a scarcity mindset, where I think that the money won’t be continuous (as I quit jobs all the time lol). So when I have a salaried job, I think of all of the ways I can spend it. When it comes to my business money, I try to not spend it 😅 isn’t it interesting, the different way we can think about things.

I’ve been spending on things like our new kitten 🐈‍⬛, our washing machine broke, we just went on a trip to Disneyland ✨ and so on 😂

Is this helpful? Let me know if you’d like to see more stuff like this!
